The owners of Capital Land Management have more than 50 years combined experience and industry education in Florida landscape.

Jarrett Myers - CEO

Jarrett Myers is a Florida Native and has a passion for the Horticulture industry. “My wife Lori and daughter Hayley are the center of my life. Landscape is my passion. To educate and share that passion with clients is what I enjoy. To understand each plant, know what they want, and what they need – then relaying that message back to our clients is an innate skill. Although plants don’t talk, they show us signs when they are in need and it is up to us to react. As CEO of Capital Land Management, I guarantee you will feel the passion that I bring and it will show on your property as I improve your property’s appearance and value, at the same time protecting your investment – The Landscape.”


AS Degree in CAD, ITT Tech FNGLA Certified Landscape Contractor, Horticulture Professional and Best Management Practices Certified. 13 years of experience in Landscape Management in Tampa and Lakeland markets. Jarrett managed over $2 million in landscape maintenance and construction contracts including Connerton, Bridgewater, Oak Creek, Franklin Tempeton Corporate Campus and Pinellas County Government Offices.

Steve Bruce - CFO

Steve Bruce is the CFO of Capital Land Management. Steve holds a Finance degree from East Carolina University, located in Greenville, NC., is a Florida Growers and Landscape Association (FNGLA) Certified Landscape Contractor and A Certified Arborist, an accreditation received by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). After starting his professional career in Atlanta working at the Federal Reserve Bank, Steve decided to leave the banking industry and pursue a career in what had been a passionate hobby – horticulture. In 1995, Steve relocated to Florida and began working in the landscape construction department of a mid-sized Florida landscape firm. It was during that time, Steve gained the valuable on the job training in landscape construction and enrolled at the Valencia Community College School of Horticulture that would establish the foundation of Steve’s horticulture career. Over the past 16 years, Steve has continued to grow personally and professionally within the green industry. Prior to starting Capital Land Management, Steve held the role of Florida Region Manager for a southeast regional landscape firm based out of North Carolina. In addition, Steve is the Past-President of the FNGLA Tampa Chapter serving from 2008 to 2009. Married to his soul mate Amy, Steve is the father to daughter Lauren and son Austin. He is active as a youth football and baseball coach and works with his Church serving as a volunteer in local community missions.


BS in Finance, East Carolina University, ISA Certified Arborist, FNGLA Florida Certified Landscape Contractor, Florida Certified Pest Control Operator, 15 Years Experience in Landscape Management in the Orlando, Tampa and Sarasota Markets. In those markets, Steve was directly responsible for the management of properties such MVCI Grande Vista Cypress Harbour, Renaissance Resort, Peabody located in Orlando, Westin Innisbrook Resort, Tampa International Airport, The Meadows, and Lakeridge Falls 600 home maintenance-free community in Sarasota.

Josh Burton - COO

Josh was born and raised in Lakeland, FL .  He entered into the green industry at a young age maintaining properties in his neighborhood.  When he turned sixteen he bought his first truck and began servicing multiple landscapes throughout Lakeland as he attended Lakeland Senior High School.  After graduating in 2002 he wanted to broaden his horticulture education.  He enrolled at Florida Southern College where he later graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture Production and a minor in Business Administration.  With an emphasis in landscape design, turf management, soils and fertilizer, Florida Southern prepared Josh for an enduring career as a Horticulture Professional.  Upon graduation Josh established his own firm specializing in the maintenance and management of both commercial and residential landscapes.  Josh’s guidance to property owners in landscape and irrigation design and installation helped create increase curb appeal and incremental value to the properties he managed throughout the Central Florida area.  As a board Certified License Irrigation Contractor, Josh knows the importance of protecting Florida’s precious commodity of water.  In 2012, Josh’s firm merged with Capital Land Management to increase the synergy the combined firms could provide to its existing and future clients to become a premier landscape maintenance firm in Central Florida.   Words to describe Josh are ambitious, honest, and hardworking.   His hobbies are outdoor sports and spending time with his wife and two young boys.


Bachelor of Science in Horticulture Production and a minor in Business Administration.  Board Certified Licensed Irrigation Contractor, over 13 years of experience in Landscape Management in Polk County.

P.J. Piney - Business Development Manager

P.J. was born and raised in Florida. He has always had a great interest in the outdoors, which brought him into the green industry. He first started his career in the golf course maintenance industry and earned an A.S. from Lake City Community College in golf course operations and pest control business management. While working as an assistant golf course superintendent and an account manager for a large landscape company, P.J. earned his certified operators certifications in the lawn and ornamental category and general household pest. P.J. owned and operated his own spray company for 3 years before joining the capital land management team. P.J. is very educated and knowledgeable in the fertilizer and pest control side of the business. He truly enjoys creating the most healthy landscape environment possible. P.J. enjoys hunting as much as possible and spending time with his wife Julie.


A.S. in golf course operations and pest control business management from Lake City Community College. He is a certified operator in the Lawn & Ornamental and General Household Pest categories. Certified by the state of Florida for Aquatic weed management. Over 12 years experience in the green industry.
